WIP Wednesday - Breaking in the Crafting Space

After the headbands, I wanted to do more sewing!!  I found a new way to use up my flannel, baby burp cloths!  These are faster than the Flannel Eater blankets, but use less of my stash.  There are a ton of tutorials online for the patterns but I found measurements from this Simply Designing pattern and then modified it a little.  As long as my serging doesn't go crooked, they go super fast and only one tail to finish...otherwise they get a little special...
The silver stars are glittery, but they should soften up more with each wash

The pattern is very simple and you could probably do it with a normal sewing machine and either a zig-zag or faux serger stitch, but the serger makes it sooo much faster!

My sketch lines, but I ended up just folding the paper in half and cutting it out to get a symmetrical shape.
I even did a fun second print on the back - there are so many options for these since I have a HUGE flannel stash!!
I can't do just one thing, so last night I was also running my embroidery machine at the same time...now that they are all on the same side of the table, it's pretty nice!  I don't quite have room for all 3 (sewing machine, serger and embroidery machine) and projects, but I'm getting it figured out!
Still so much to organize, but I need a break!

Current Projects:

  • Baby knit fabric headbands Made 3, now to send them off and see if they work!
  • Flannel Burp Cloths - Super fast and easy project, need to make a few more!
  • Baby mermaid gown - Need to find the fabric...it's in a packed box...
  • Teacher purses (school's out, but they are willing to wait LOL) (2)
  • Springs Creative projects (2)
  • Swoon Sydney messenger bags for birthday presents (from April and May...)

Current Crochet Projects:

  • WeeBee baby doll  -  Tail/bikini left.Just needs some face details, and maybe a swimsuit to wear when she's not in her tail...bikini sort of works...made up my own pattern and it's interesting...
  • Chunky Unicorn Blanket - almost finished up to the hood, then just ears, horn, and fringe!
  • Figuring out C2C (corner to corner) crochet with some random scarfie yarn...ran out of yarn before I finished!  Now to decide if I frog back with yarn that hates being undone, or buy another skein if I can find it...
  • Started the Mermaid tail towel, hopefully will come together fast since it using a giant hook and thick yarn.
  • Started working on cowls for the fall because they are mindless and fast...but I really should totally finish them, not leave them with tails and button-less...

Next Projects: (orders and using up fabric)

  • Handkerchief Purse
